Living in Lucknow, leaving luck now.

I didn’t had to wait to get off the railway compartment to feel Lucknow, getting onto it was sufficient. The fair faces, blood red lips, white for clothing, and a bit loud while talking as if the whole of the compartment were a part of the same conversation.

The fear mixed with uneasiness was assisted by the fact that I wouldn’t be seeing illu, amma, nanna and sister for another 5 months. I waited till the train left the platform to spill my eyes out.

Call me narrow-minded, but I hesitated talking to anybody. That evening, my eyes outside the window and mind out of the train, two incidents happened to change it all.

First, the person with whom I was supposed to share the birth due to RAC, fought with the TTE for a birth but of no avail. Finally, he said “bhai sahab, aap ab so jaayiye, main tho Gorakhpur thak jaa rahan hoon, main subah bhi so sakta hoon.”Just.

Second, another person who was at the window of the longer seats(I was at the side window) didn’t talk to me all day. He was fair, brown silky hair with papidi centred and paan leaking from the mouth. He suddenly, before going to sleep, came to me and said “Arey bhai, kuch khaaya hain ki nahin. Bhopal ke baad kuch nahin milne vaala hain.”

Finishing this post from the digital library at IITR. A little bit of guilt involved, as people use these libraries-both digital and wood pulp for heavy journal reading (right now, the person adjacent is busy compiling stuff from some neurotoxicology journal for his report). I have been given the project to assist Dr. V.P.Sharma on Toxicological assessment of various Plastics in use, under the Developmental Biology Lab/Division. A highly enthused candidate(as are most of the others) and is planning to renew the regulation manual released by ITRC(then) for the plastic industries to follow(mandatory). So I will, most probably, be doing the documentation of the studies going on and if I prove to be promising, then he might give some actual stuff to work on.That’s all about PS.

Since no internet at home, laptopping is a rare phenomenon- Only to please my ears once in two days or so. Only recording the tune I get to the mouth for time being and not using FLStudio8. No computer=> reading+sleeping+eating, though the latter two, as you might have guessed it right, are predominent. Only managed to finish that book I bought, by P.G.Wodehouse, and reading 1984 and Oliver Twist presently as suited by the part of the day. Also doing a little bit of reading on Constitution of India by Basu and Yojana(a monthly).

It dawns here at 5:00 with enough light to be able to read in the light. Except for a few bugging dogs(pampered by the residents here), the C.S.I.R Scientists’ Quarters are peaceful and good. The food here seems to be a bit expensive,anyways. Hindi dominant city; scientists too prefer talking in hindi. Overall, Mayawati dominant. Every locality has a 2Xlifesize poster of Mayawati, not kidding. The controversial B R Ambedkar park, is a 2km stretched park with three National Emblems in the centre, but the banal lions replaced by novel Mayawati, Kanshiram and B R Ambedkar(?) on each emblem. Marvellous, extraordinary, stupendous and majestic. She is a pseudo- Monarch here, disgusting and blood-boiling(:P), Ugranaram!.
